Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society

Cymdeithas Hen Gelfi, Ynys Mon

The Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society is run by volunteers and is an entirely self-funded charity. Established in the mid 1970s, the aims of the Society are to promote the preservation of old machinery and artefacts and, where possible, keep them in their native area. The Society own a 1953 Leyland Tiger Bus built at Beaumaris, an 1889 Aveling & Porter Roller that spent its life building and maintaining the island's roads, and a Threshing Box that worked in Caernarfonshire.

The Society raises funds to assist local charities and organisations including:

St John's Ambulance Holyhead Division

Seindorf Beaumaris Band

1465 Squadron Air Cadets, Menai Bridge

Cantorion Llan Ladies' Choir.

Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru ~ Wales Air Ambulance

If you have an interest in old machines and artefacts like those exhibited at our annual rally, you might like to attend our monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at 8pm (except August) at Tafarn y Rhos, Rhostrehwfa, Isle of Anglesey.

We also enjoy our annual summer bar-b-que in June, the annual outing in July and the Christmas Dinner in December.

The Society is also represented at the Anglesey Show at Mona Showground which takes place in August.
