About us

The Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society is run by volunteers and is an entirely self-funded charity. Established in the mid 1970s, the aims of the Society are to promote the preservation of old machinery and artefacts and, where possible, keep them in their native area. The Society own a 1953 Leyland Tiger Cub, the last bus built at Beaumaris by Saunders Roe (SARO) , an 1889 Aveling & Porter R10 Roller that spent its life building and maintaining the island's roads, a Threshing Box that worked in Caernarfonshire and a recently acquired 1948 Jones Bailer.

If you have an interest in old machines and artefacts like those exhibited at our annual rally, you might like to attend our monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm Dolwen, Star (except August)

Our annual Vintage Rally, will now take place on the third weekend in May at the Anglesey Showground, Gwalchmai and is attended by both those local to Anglesey and North Wales and many more from much further afield.

The Society is also present at the Anglesey Show at Mona Showground which takes place in August and is represented at other similar events in the North West, including other Vintage shows, Historic Road Runs, Treshing events etc.

We are also in the throws of a major restoration of our Fire Engine, Living Van and many other bits of Equipment.

Our purpose-built shed at Dolwen, Star houses our bus, roller, fire engine and other pieces of vintage agricultural equipment owned and being restored by the club.
